On Whit Monday, we Pallottine Sisters celebrated our foundation feast. All the sisters who were able to attend gathered in the provincialate chapel in Limburg for the solemn Holy Mass with Fr Alexander Holzbach SAC at 10 am: the sisters from House Camaldoli, from House Felizitas and from Refrath. Some other residents of the Felizitas Home for the Elderly were also present. As no homily was planned for the day, Provincial Superior Sr. Astrid Meinert enriched the prayer with powerful intercessions in the spirit of the mission of our Pallottine Sisters’ Congregations.
The joy of meeting each other was great; some sisters from Refrath had not seen their fellow sisters from Limburg for a long time. They were also amazed at the beautiful garden area, visited our bedridden sisters and also the cemetery where the German Pallottine Sisters have been buried since the initial mission in Cameroon.
In the afternoon, there was another festive gathering of all the sisters for coffee and cake in the refectory. Old and new stories came to life in sharing. A photographer was around to capture spontaneous moments and take a nice portrait photo of each sister. Before vespers, a group photo was taken of all the sisters who were able to attend. The celebration of this special day ended with praise and thanks to God for the mission in the Pallottine charism that He has entrusted to us.
