On 22 May, the Feast of Mary Queen of Apostles, anticipating the Solemnity of Pentecost, in the church of San Salvatore in Onda, Rome, a solemn Holy Mass was celebrated in the intention of the two Pallottine Sisters´ Congregations: the Pallottine Missionary Sisters and the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, on the 183rd Anniversary of their foundation.
The common celebration brought together the three General Councils and representatives of the Roman communities of Sisters and laity belonging to the Union of the Catholic Apostolate. Thanks to the webcast, the Mass was transmitted in different languages from the Spiritual Center of the Pallottine Family to the whole world.
The Eucharist was presided over and the homily was given by Fr. Jacob Nampudakam SAC, Rector General. A message and words of gratitude were expressed by the two Superiors General: Sr. Izabela Świerad SAC and Sr. Ivete Garlet CSAC.
Gathered around Mary, Queen of Apostles we were able to experience the fulfillment of the words of St. Vincent Pallotti about his desire of constantly being in the Cenacle in Jerusalem where the Apostles received the gift of the Holy Spirit. A beautiful symbol in the celebration was a candle burning with seven flames, which was brought to the altar by the two Superiors General.
The Cenacle is an invitation which St. Vincent Pallotti addressed to us, with the desire for us to be a community united by common prayer and common mission.
