Fr. Daniel Luz Rocchetti SAC, Councillor of the General Government and Rector of the Church of Santissimo Salvatore in Onda, invited all members of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate and guests to the opening ceremony of the Pallottine Jubilee Year, which is part of the celebration of the Jubilee of Hope 2025 announced by Pope Francis. The Rector welcomed us with the words:
On 9 January 1835, our Founder St Vincent Pallotti had the experience which we call Charismatic Inspiration. On that day, after the Holy Mass, he ‘saw’ and ‘understood’ the charism of the foundation. That was 190 years ago! It is our history!
Therefore, this year, on 9 January 2025, we remembered that special day with gratitude. At the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore in Onda, at 6 p.m., Archbishop Adrian Galbas, SAC, Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw/Poland, presided over the Holy Mass of thanksgiving for the charism of the Catholic Apostolate. Among the attendees was Sr. Josephina D’Souza, Superior General of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, as well as councilors and representatives of the three Pallottine Congregations.
The Archbishop underlined the role of Saint Pallotti as a Pilgrim of Hope who, obedient to God’s inspiration, recognised and defined the charism for future generations of priests, sisters and lay people united together.
We heard that the Jubilee Year can become an opportunity for the Catholic Church and for each of us to work individually on hope. In view of this, we as pilgrims of hope are invited to discern the reality of life and its complexity.
Archbishop Adrian emphasised that hope is often carried into our lives by others and that we are invited to feed on the Divine Love which we receive in the Word of God.
May the charism of Saint Vincent Pallotti inspire us so that we may share in bringing love and hope to the world as pilgrims of hope.
