Final Message
from the
annual meeting of the General Coordination Council of the Union 2014
Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Union of Catholic Apostolate,
The grace and peace of God our Father and of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. We, the members of the General Coordination Council of the Union gathered in Rome, desire to greet each one of you and to share this message, the fruit of our prayer and our work. A deep reflection on the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium of Pope Francis stirred our hearts anew with love for Christ, whom we desire to follow and serve as Apostles with a renewed missionary spirit. We are all encouraged to action, to keep moving forward, and to give the best that we can so that the Joy of the Gospel will be lived ever more fully among us, the Pallottine Family, and become the source and inspiration of all of our missionary efforts.
Let us, members and collaborators of the Union, be an open door for this new flow of the Holy Spirit, which comes through the Gospel and the inspiring words of our Pope. There we find fresh motivation for our vocation within the Union and for our response to the challenges of today. We are called to discern the signs of the times in the environment in which we live, to see the poverty around us, to reach out to the poor and the vulnerable, to protect the small and the weak, and especially to take care of families that are in danger. This requires us to be spirit-filled evangelisers, guardians of goodness, true missionary disciples of Jesus Christ and witnesses of His love and joy. “Love is more powerful, love gives life, love makes hope blossom in the wilderness” (Pope Francis). So, let the Love of Christ continue to urge us on!
In communion always in the spirit of St. Vincent Pallotti,
Your sisters and brothers of the General Coordination Council of the Union
Rome, May 2014.
