The 50th Provincial Chapter of Mary Queen of Peace Province was held from 03 – 09 December 2016 in Poli Singisi Tanzania. The opening Holy Mass was celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Auxiliary Bishop, Prosper Lyimo from the Archdiocese of Arusha. In his homily, he encouraged the Sisters to look forward with hope and venture into new ministries of evangelization in the remote areas of Tanzania.
The reflection continued by Fr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam, MSFS based on the theme “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men.” (Col. 3:23). He enlightened the Sisters of their responsibilities and their mission to build the Kingdom of God through their service to the needy. He also brought to awareness that whatever we do we do it with a full heart for the Infinite Glory of God. This insight and invitation gave the Chapter members encouragement to look forward with hope in all their deliberations.
The working session began with the guidance of Sr. Josephina D’Souza SAC, Vice Superior General. Amidst an exchange of greetings, the deliberation and discussion on the realities of the Province led the Chapter members to recognize their abundant blessings and to focus on the challenges of our religious life and apostolate. At this juncture, the Chapter members recognized the need to be united with one another in order to render fruitful service to humanity. It is not what we do, but how we do, and in what attitude we do, was reflected deeply.
At the end of the Chapter, we arrived on the definite, conclusion that it is necessary to enhance our spiritual and community life, formation at all levels, apostolate, competence in our ministries, and determination in becoming self-sufficient.
December 7th was a very special day. After the special prayer, reflection and discernment the Chapter Delegates elected a new Provincial Council of the Blessed Mother, Queen of Peace Province. The following are the members:
