From 19 to 23 of May the General Coordination Council of the UAC met for its annual meeting. The members coming from five continents, were trying to respond to the needs of the Pallottine Family and to fulfill the mission call: “Go and Proclaim”, according to the idea of St. Vincent Pallotti. These meetings are always very precious and fruitful. As brothers and sisters, representatives of different vocations: priests, brothers and sisters consecrated and lay members, they gather together to look to the past and with renewed enthusiasm they take concrete steps to the future.
The theme for this meeting was “Communion and Co-responsibility”, which will help the Union members to embrace needs of the Church, today. In searching for new ways of development for the entire Union of the Catholic Apostolate, the GCC examined different aspects of their apostolic and missionary involvement in the world, and tried to discern the most urgent ones. There is no doubt that the desire of communion among all the members within the Union is a topic number one, as it was for the Founder, as working together can make the apostolate more effective. We realize that communion it is a gift of God, but also a call to be responded through openness of hearts toward newness and through co-responsibility of every member of the Pallottine Family.
At the end the members of the GCC took important decisions for the future life of the entire Union, which will soon be shared with its members all over the world.
