On September 11, a two-week formation program under the title Holiness for 20 young sisters of our Congregation began in our General house in Rome. The sisters came from Poland, India, Belarus, Russia, Rwanda, Congo, Uganda and Cameroon.
The meeting began with a two-day evangelization retreat led by Fr. Krzysztof Kralka SAC, director of the Pallottine School of New Evangelization in Lublin, together with his two colleagues.
We started the day with the Holy Mass, presided by the Archbishop Grzegorz Ryś of the Diocese of Lodz. In his homily, he invited us to become disciples and missionaries at the same time, which has a beginning in listening and in allowing to be “touched” by God and others.
At the beginning of the first session, Sr. Izabela Świerad SAC, Superior General, welcomed our community, encouraging us to realize that holiness is the goal of our lives. In the pursuit of holiness, we need, following the example of Saint. W. Pallotti, constantly answer to the questions: who is God for me and who am I to Him? Sister also asked us what is most important in our lives as women, Christians and Pallottines.
The time of the retreat brought us closer to the depths of God’s love and helped us to look at how we respond to it. These were days that gave us an opportunity to offer our lives sincerely and generously to God. We renewed our baptismal vows, we asked for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and during the evening Eucharist in the church of San Salvatore in Onda, where is the body of our Founder St. Vincent Pallotti, we joined the whole community for the celebration and prayed to our Saint.
