The Third Ordinary National Assembly of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate, India 2019 was held in Shanti Niwas Renewal Centre, Bilaspur, on November 8-10, 2019 with the theme: Celebrating, Living and Sharing the Word of God.
The participants (72) consisted of GCC President Ms Donatella Acerbi, Pallottine Missionary Sisters’ Vice General Sr. Josephina D’Souza and General councilor Sr. Liberata Niyongira, Ex-officio members of the NCC of India, Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, Khristsevikas, Cenacle Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Pallottine Fathers from different Provinces, and representatives of the UAC in India.
The program of the Assembly included: the welcome and inaugural address by Rev. Fr. Varghese Pullan, NCC president and address by Ms Donatella Acerbi. Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, the Ecclesiastical Assistant also has sent his message. There were presentations and reports given by the secretary of the NCC of India and the National Formation Coordinator. Sr. Beena Elizabeth, CSAC, the treasurer gave a financial report and presented the topic “the ministry to the youth within the project of the Union of celebrating, living and sharing the Word of God”. A second presentation on the ministry to the family within the project for the union was given by Pius Montero.
The Third National Assembly wished to respond to the invitation of our Mother Church who continually calls her children to contemplate, celebrate, live and share the Word of God with the people whom we encounter in our lives.
The election of the seven members to the NCC in India was held. From our Congregation of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters Sr. Lillian Kaniampuram, SAC was elected a Council of the NCC in India. Celebration of the Holy Eucharist, praying together, fellowship and evening entertainment were part of the assembly. Final recommendations were made for an effective implementation of the charism in today’s world.
With great joy and happiness the third UAC National Assembly came to an end. We thank God who has guided the Union, blessed it and nurtured its growth till today and we rely on His providence for the upcoming mission work in His vineyard. May Mary, Queen of Apostles, our Patroness, protect us, and our founder St. Vincent Pallotti guide and lead the Union to save souls for the infinite glory of God.
