The General Administration of the sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (CSAC) and the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC) met in Grottaferrata in the former Novitiate House ‘CENACOLO’ for a day of common prayer and sisterly recreation.
The meeting began with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel with moments of silence, spontaneous thanksgiving prayers for various intentions including the discernment towards reunification. Then all sisters paid a short visit to the neighboring community of senior sisters which brought great joy to them.
At midday the Angelus was prayed by the statue of our Lady in the garden followed by lunch during which the sisters had an opportunity to be acquainted with each other.
A very interesting part of the gathering was a short presentation of history by Sr. Adelheid Scheloske SAC about the stay of a group of Pallottine postulants and novices with Sr. Fidelis in Frascati in villa Muti in 1894. They spent only a few months in this place, but that time turned out to be crucial to their future due to some challenges.
Then, there was a common recreation with a lot of joy and laughter. It confirmed that Pope Francis was right when he wrote in “Evangelii Gaudium”: Where there are consecrated persons, there is joy.
At the end both General Superiors and other sisters exchanged words of gratitude for the brief, but precious time spent together in sisterly communion. The meeting ended with a visit and prayer in St. Nilo’s Abbey of Byzantine rite in Grottaferrata.
