In the light of the exhortation of the Instrumentum Laboris of the 2024 Synod, nearly 200 Superiors General of the Roman Constellation of UISG, participated in the annual assembly on January 9, 2025, to walk in synodality searching joyfully for new paths ahead. Sr. Josephina D’ Souza, our Superior General was one among them.
The day began with a prayer reflecting on the bible passage from the Gospel of John 2: 1-11 “Wedding at Cana”. The day was planned with different dynamics among them was a talk by Sr. Simona Brambilla, from the Congregation of the Consolata Sisters who is newly appointed as a prefect of CICLSAL by Pope Francis. She reflected on the theme of the assembly “Authority in consecrated life in a synodal Church”. Her sharing gave the participants a direction in their ministry of authority and animation of their respective institutions. In addition, there was also sharing of several Superiors General about their experiences on a variety of practical topics. The assembly is always an occasion to meet one another, learn, share and strengthen our Identity as consecrated women in the Church. It calls our attention to embrace the challenges that our Congregations face today and be the messenger of hope to one another so that the exercise of authority becomes always an expression of communion at the service of the mission.
