We give thanks to the Lord, on the day of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary (8th of December), as fifteen Postulants make their entrance to the International Novitiate in Tanzania. What a great joy for the entire Congregation to witness another historical and significant event in the year 2017.
The Canonical Year of the Novitiate began with the guidance of Sr. Marie Claire, the Novice Directress. As a preparation to this special journey they began eight days of spiritual retreat. The entrance to the novitiate initiated with a meaningful prayer service in the Chapel of Novitiate house in Arusha. Sr. Basilisa Jacob, Provincial Superior accepted the Novices with a simple ceremony by presenting the Bible and the Cross.
In the noon during the Holy Mass the main celebrant Fr. Evarist Nyaki, the Novice Master of Conventual Friars, encouraged the Novices to gaze on to Jesus and never get discouraged with the vocation. The love for Christ must be intensified during this time of preparation to the religious life. He also emphasized on the collaboration between the formators and formees. The presence of few religious, seminarians and Pallottine priests added to the joy of the community.
After a fellowship meal and the entertainment, the day ended with praise and glory to the Lord for His infinite love and mercy for the Divine gift of vocation. The Novices expressed boundless joy of being in the international Novitiate and community.
