On January 6th, 2019, the communities of the Generalate and the Procura, with great joy and thanksgiving celebrated the Solemnity of Epiphany – the Manifestation of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The ceremony included the blessing of the houses and blessing of a new replic of Pallotti’s Bambino Gesù, followed by the solemn Vespers and agape.
Many Sisters and Priests from different congregations and Union lay friends followed our invitation to the house of the Procura. A pleasant surprise was the presence the President of the Union, Ms. Donatella Acerbi and her sister Gabriella Acerbi. As every year, a word of welcome was given by our Superior General Sr. Izabela Świerad, who officially opened this celebration and who expressed wishes for the New Year. Fr. Jarosław Rochowiak, SDB, the master of ceremony who conducted the entire ritual and during the Vespers, shared a reflection of the meaning of the Epiphany of the Lord in our lives – as the manifestation of God’s love towards us all.
Fr. Jaroslaw, together with Sr. Bożena Olszewska, led also the last and very beautiful part of the evening, the chanting of Christmas Carols in different languages. Each one present also received a creatively prepared card with an inspiring message taken from Gaudete et Exsultate (Pope Francis), as an individual call to be lived throughout the year.
The Wonders of the Epiphany:
“Today the Star led the Magi to the Manger; Today Water was changed into Wine;
Today Christ desired to be Baptized by John in the River Jordan to bring us Salvation” Alleluia.
