The Sisters in Rome were happy to welcome our Superior General, Sr. Josephina D’Souza, back to Rome on early morning of 30 April 2024. She had been out for almost three months to take part in the first Provincial Chapter of Our Lady of Kibeho Province in Rwanda, to open the two months formation program for mission preparation which started in Rwanda, to have some holidays with her family in India and to help animating the mission preparation program, continuing in Tanzania.
Her return to Rome gave the Sisters the opportunity to celebrate her feast day on 1 May, the feast of St. Joseph the worker. The festivities began with a solemn Holy Mass, celebrated by His Eminence Antoine Cardinal Kambanda, Archbishop of Kigali, who happened to stay as a guest in the Sisters’ house for some days. Among the other guests were Fr. Zenon Hanas SAC, Rector General of the Pallottine Fathers, Sr. Ivete Garlet CSAC, Superior General of the other Pallottine Sisters Congregation and Fr. Alain Mayama CSSp, Rector General, of the Holy Spirit Fathers. In his homily Fr. Hanas reflected on the model of St. Joseph, his virtues and actions. Afterwards, the celebration continued with a beautiful time of sharing during lunch.
