After two years of noviciate, Sr. Astrid Meinert made her first profession, mid August 2012, in the chapel of Marienborn in the presence of the Superior General.
Fr. Jochen Ruiner, SAC, the novice master of the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers, celebrated the Eucharist with the community members and guests. At the beginning Sr. Helga Weidemann, provincial welcomed the participants to this joyful event. The liturgy was animated by the Cathedral choir of Limburg, to which Sr. Astrid belongs. In her address, Sr. Simone Hachen referred to the colourfulness of the community, in which very different people come together, who can stay together – in spite of all variety –, since all of them are conscious that it is Jesus Christ who called them together. Now, Sr. Astrid also enters this colourful togetherness.
Before taking her vows Sr. Astrid answered the question: what do you ask from God? “Trusting that God is the ground, in whom I am rooted and who holds me, I ask for His strength and His accompaniment. I ask for the courage and creativeness, to strengthen all those, who seek Him, in order to bring their abilities and talents to the Church.” With a joyful Yes, Sr. Astrid through her vows pronounced her readiness to bind herself closer to Jesus Christ and to live in accordance with the Pallottine way of life. Now she will carry on with her apostolate as a teacher.
