Halleluja! Praise the Lord. Thank him and praise him with the sound of harp and lyre. Halleluja!
Sr. Izabela Swierad, General Superior, gave on the evening before their feast thanks to the jubilarians for their life work:
„Each one of you is a treasured book, a written history of our Congregation made up of assorted adventures, stories, great events, and significant encounters with God and the people. You are co-creators with God, who with heads up – true pride can look back at everything you made and find it very good. Our Congregation is blessed and enriched by your life and your work.
You are very precious, and today with words of great gratitude I say Thank You Sisters, for being good stewards, who planted with wisdom, and today we harvest the fruit. Thank you for all you did for the Church and this Congregation, for your fidelity, perseverance, courage, and for your footprints as you walked through these years, and which we want to follow and imitate. May God be praised for the gift of each one of you.”
We are glad to be allowed to celebrate the feast with our jubilarians: Sr. Regina Hollingshaus, Sr. Ephrem E. Lau, Sr. Bernita Rothenberger, Sr. Editha Franz, Sr. Marie Luise Braun, Sr. Hildegard Rausch, Sr. Gerburg E. Vogt, Sr. Rita Büdenbender, Sr. Raphaela Fuchs, Sr. Annemarie Niehsen and Sr. Vera Altemeier. We gratefully remember the deceased sisters who made their final vows with our jubilarians: Sr. Huberta Korte and Sr. Wilhelma Lehnhof.
The solemn eucharist was celebrated by auxiliary bishop Msgr. Jörg M. Peters, Trier, in concelebration with bishop emeritus Herbert Lenhof, SAC. Auxiliary bishop Msgr. Peters adressed himself in his homilie to the jubilarians and pointed out that every vocation starts with discovering Christ as a personal counterpart. And he gave thanks to the sisters for fifty years of unshakable faith, proved love and fidelity.
