Autumn’s Hymn of Praise

I took a walk today,

The world was all on fire –

O! How those flames of red and gold

Enkindled love’s desires,

For God was there…

He set the world on fire.

I took a walk today,

And tasted love divine;

For there I found a hidden spring,

Drank deep of nature’s wine.

Yes, God was there…

He gave me of the wine.

I felt God’s hand today,

It held a gentle breeze,

Held the brisk, fresh, autumn air,

As I walked beneath the trees.

O! God was there…

His touch was in the breeze.
