Provincial Chapter of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters

The Third Provincial Chapter of Mary, Mother of Divine Love Province of India, opened in the morning of December 27 with a Holy Hour at the Provincial House, St. Vincent Krupa in Bangalore. The theme of the Chapter was: Missionary – A Beacon of Love and Mercy. Provincial Superior Sr. Inacinha Fernandes, SAC opened the Chapter, and before her inaugural address, she welcomed Sr. Josephina D’Souza, SAC from the General Government as the Facilitator of the Chapter. Fr. Henry Angel, SAC delivered a talk on Mission and Apostolic Task, stressing the virtue of humility in all that we do by modeling our ministry after Jesus. He offered the Holy Eucharist for the fruitfulness of the Chapter.
On December 28, Fr. Peter Bala Swamy, CSsR came to celebrate the Holy Mass. Sr. Lillian Kaniampuram presented the report on Formation in the Province, and Sr. Vanitha Mary Reddy gave the Financial Report. The Chapter members chalked out concrete steps to be followed in the Province – Community Life, Spiritual Life, Apostolate, Mission, Vocation promotion, Formation and Finances.
Fr. John Joseph, SAC was the Holy Mass celebrant on December 29, afterwards and the Sisters had period of adoration before they proceeded to the election of the delegates for the coming General Chapter. Then they worked on the Provincial Directives and the recommendations received by the Sisters. Sr. Josephina D’Souza did a excellent job as the Facilitator – it was a time of hard work but also a time of grace.
Sr. Bimla Barla gave the vote of thanks and Provincial Superior Sr. Inacinha Fernandes officially closed the first session of the Third Provincial Chapter and thanked Sr. Josephina and every member for their active participation and contribution. The conclusion was a missioning ceremony, in which the Sisters were sent out to continue their mission as faithful daughters of St. Vincent Pallotti, spreading love and mercy in their communities and apostolates.
