Milestone of General Visitation in Belarus

IMG 20250410 WA0006It was with great pleasure that we welcomed Sr. Malgorzata Wyrodek, Vicar General for the General visitation of our Belarussian communities, which belong to Mary the Queen Province, Poland. It took place from 24 to 31 March 2025, with a theme of the last General Chapter ‘Do whatever He tells you’ (Jn 2:3).

Sr. Malgorzata visited both communities in Bereza and Woronowo which consist of Polish and Belarussian Sisters. During this time, she had an opportunity to meet the sisters and have conversations with them in the spirit of openness and good will. We were glad to take Sr. Malgorzata to different churches for the prayers as well as to show her our apostolic engagement in parish ministries such as – teaching catechism to the children and young people, organizing the camps, leading the prayer groups, charity work at the Caritas center, organizing the pilgrimage to Marian Shrine in Trokiele and caring for the sick. In these places the work is boundless and widespread, but with good collaboration with Pallottine Fathers and lay people sisters are able to serve the people with much joy and zeal.

Though the distance from Bereza to Woronowo is not very far, we sisters find it very difficult to come together due to our commitment to various ministries. However, during this visitation with Sr. Malgorzata, we found the occasion to come together for a meeting to listen and share our joys and challenges of life. From the sharing of Sr. Malgorzata we also got to know the realities of different provinces and were pleased to see the growth and development of our missions in Africa and India. This short time of being together and enjoying the presence of each other encouraged us to live our charism more vividly. We were glad to take our visitor to the Pallottine Fathers’ house and around the towns to show her some of the historical places – a well restored palace in Kossovo and Marian Shrine in Trokiele.

The visitation was an enriching time for us to evaluate our life and mission. We thank Sr. Malgorzata for her encouraging words in this time of challenges in the Church and the world. We pray that the General administration be guided by the Holy Spirit as they continue their mission to our Pallottine Missionary Sisters all over the world.
