7. TESTIMONY – CHALLENGES OF CONTEMPORARY TIMES
Patroness of the month – Mary, Star of the new evangelization, pray for us
Mysticism of everyday life. It delights, attracts and gives us wings. And why does it feel so impossible? Miriam of Nazareth was a woman of simple everyday life. A woman clothed with the sun: Mother who is pregnant with the Word. Everything became possible in Her. She invariably intercedes for the world, protects her children and calls them to conversion and prayer, to immerse themselves in grace, because the Gospel resonates most fully through what is simple, ordinary. Gospel of Life. Impossible?
Intention of the month
Let us pray for new vocations so that there will be no shortage of those who, following Jesus, will devote themselves to the work of evangelization.
Lectio Divina
“Blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled” (Luke 1:45).
St. Vincent Pallotti writes
My Jesus, you came to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness. Therefore, carry out the plans of your mercy through the infinite merits and holiness and perfection of your most holy Life, destroy all wickedness, guilt and the consequences of all my sins and those of the whole world. Bring about that there may be no more sin in me or throughout the world, and that now and forever, in me and in all there may be the communication of your most holy Life with all your Virtues and all your merits (OOCC X, 663-664).
OWL
“Jesus, Apostle of the Eternal Father, and his mission are central to our personal and community life, giving meaning and direction to our thinking, our spirituality, our prayer, action and suffering” (19).
Exercise
Proposal for the community:
During this month, schedule a time to share with the community a testimony of crises of faith, moments of grace, or a story of a vocation or of a second conversion. Try to bear witness to those with whom you live every day and hear their personal stories of salvation. Let the Word ‘run’ and be preached, so that genuine fraternity becomes the culture of life.
