With deep gratitude and joy, in the evening of Sunday of Pentecost, at the shrine of our Founder in San Salvatore in Onda, Rome, as daughters of St. Vincent Pallotti, we Sisters of the two Congregations, “Roman Sisters” and the “Missionary Sisters” celebrated together with many Pallottine priests, brothers and lay members of the Union Day of our Foundation (Pentecost 1838). It was a special joy, that the major superiors of our missionary Congregation who had just finished the Central Assembly, were able to share in this festive event. Fr. Gilberto Orsolin SAC, Rector of the Generalate community presided over the Eucharistic celebration and invited us in his rich sermon to desire all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The celebration radiated the Spirit of the Cenacle: the togetherness in prayer and the readiness of being sent as joyful apostles of the Good News. Seven Sisters, members of both congregations, representing different continents and entities, brought symbolically the flames of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit to the altar. With lights in our hands, we Pallottine Sisters together, guided by our Superiors General, Sr. Ivete Garlet CSAC and Sr. Izabela Świerad SAC, renewed our vows. With their beautiful voices “Romans” and “Missionaries” gave joyful expression to the meaningful texts of the songs.
On the hospitable gesture of Fr. Gilberto to the rooms of the Generalate of the Society, all participants were invited by the Sisters to share in a fraternal, warm agape, with tasty pizza and other delicious dishes.
