The Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan Jubilee Committee has designated several sacred sites for the faithful to visit during the Jubilee Year of Hope. This initiative ensures that all the faithful have the opportunity to experience these sites, especially for those who are unable to travel to Rome.
One such Sacred Site is at the Pallottine Missionary Sisters’ place Novitiate Nazareth, called Our Lady of Fatima Chapel, located in Forest Home Village in the Toledo District. It was officially declared a Sacred Site on January 19, 2025, during a special Mass attended by approximately two hundred people. The villages of Silver Creek and Augacate were honoured as special guests. The main celebrant was Fr. Mat Ruel. The Silver Creek music band enhanced the singing, and the combined choir of Forest Home and Silver Creek parishioners sang in Kek’chi, Spanish, and English.
After the celebration, the faithful were treated to a meal. The chapel had been beautifully decorated for the occasion by our sisters. Our sisters have also been diligently preparing for the visit of pilgrims throughout the Jubilee Year.
