It was a great auspicious day for us Pallottine Sisters and St. Joseph’s Home as we had a thanksgiving Mass for 87 years of the existence of St. Joseph’s Home for the Chronically Ill Children on the feast of Exultation of the Cross. The Mass was presided over by His Grace Archbishop Stephen Brislin and concelebrated by Manuel Fernandes SAC, Fr. Jackson Francis SAC, Diocesan priests, and our chaplin Fr. Diegao Arias.
Archbishop in his homily appreciated and congratulated the Pallottine Sisters who initiated to build the Home as it is very important for the world of today. He said St. Joseph’s Home is the refuge of the homeless and it brings hope and security to the vulnerable children. Whoever comes to St Joseph’s Home cultivates a sense of hope and experiences true love, healing, and social interactions. It is a pillar of faith built on a Christian foundation of values and unconditional love.
The presence of our invited guests – religious sisters, Board members, donors, and our St Joseph’s staff and children – added significance to the celebration. Children performed a few instrumental hymns and the liturgical dance made the celebration very meaningful. Chairperson Mr. Adrian Van Stolk thanked each everyone, especially the sisters’ presence in South Africa.
