On October 8, in our Generalate house (Pallottine Missionary Sisters), the second meeting in this year of the General Councils of our Pallottine Congregations took place. The first meeting was in January 2020. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented many of the planned initiatives for the reunification journey.
Sisters shared about many inspiring topics, such as joint formation, activities enabling better mutual understanding and creative and dynamic tasks for the future.
This meeting followed the on-line session with the Commission members of the “Bridge of Unity” for the Reunification of our two Pallottine Congregations which took place on 1 October 2020 via modern technology – a Zoom Program, which was established to conduct online meetings. Besides the members of the commission, the Sisters of our two General Councils were present at the meeting. Many thanks to Sr. Maria Landsberger, the translator on this session. Our agenda was focused on the reports on the work of the sub-commissions, which are guided by the members of the Commission, specifically to share about our charism and history, and to present important material on the process of reunification to a greater number of communities of both congregations.
Both the virtual session with the Commission and the face-to-face meeting of the two General Councils led us to next steps in this beautiful process of collaboration, building relationships, making new discoveries, and planning future actions.
