Every year in October we dedicate ourselves to Mother Mary and honour her in a special way. We offer her our gratitude and cast all our worries and burdens on her so that she may easily pass them on to her son Jesus Christ. We thank God for the gift of novitiate communities around us. For a long time, we have been calling ourselves as mall Vatican, because our area here in Poli-Sing’isi has got more congregations than any other place.
This year, the month of Mary was wonderful for us, we realised many graces and blessings which flow from our Mother every day. As we have been walking from community to community visiting Our Lady and having rosary together, we have really experienced the loving care of our Mother and her constant intercessions for us and we have received the streams of God’s graces flowing out from her son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We started journeying with our Mother from St. Elizabeth community followed by our community where we had rosary, Holy mass and vespers. From our community we went to Franciscan friars and during the last week we were in our parish where we had rosary at the grotto. From there we went with procession to the church for the vespers. Since this was the last day for journeying with our Mother, we had a vote of thanks from Sr Odile Mukandayisenga SAC who welcomed Fr Francis Mutuku OFM Conventual. He also expressed his gratitude, first to our Mother Mary who journeyed with us the whole month, and he emphasised that we should continue to give our hands to Mother Mary so that she can always hold us firm to her Son Jesus. The praying of the rosary in different communities was well organized and the environment was very conducive for prayers in each community. Everything was well prepared and conducted.
The purpose of praying the rosary with different communities was as follows
- To renew our faith as the first grace of baptism and developing our spiritual growth to allow the full appreciation of Chistian call.
- To pray for our own vocation and in the church at large.
- To pray for the peace in the world especially where they experience wars and misunderstandings.
- To strengthen collaboration of our communities.
- To pray for our congregations and all its members.
- To pray for the suffering, the sick, the starving, refugees and many other.
Above all the month of Mary in this year has really left a remarkable blessing on us. Journeying with our Mother who loves us and embraces us always in her arms with a sweet smile, has made us feel the heaven on earth.
Our lady of Fatima, pray for us
That we may have clarity of mind and heart
On the verge of our present time. AMEN.
