On 15th October 2023, the Italian ‘Queen of Apostles’ Province of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (CSAC) celebrated their golden jubilee. While Saint Vincent Pallotti had founded the Pallottine Sisters in Rome in 1838 and the Sisters were present in the country since then, the erection of provinces was a step taken only in 1973. The ‘Queen of Apostles’ Province consists of sisters from Italy as well as from India, who are involved in active ministry in Italy. This milestone in the history of their Province and Congregation was a platform to bring sisters together, who are working in different parts of the country, to thank God for His benevolence.
To add to the joy of this day, the sisters also celebrated the 80th birthday of their Superior General, Sr. Ivete Garlet CSAC who celebrates her birthday on 16th October.
The celebration took place in ‘Mother of Divine Love’ School in Rome, which was the first Provincial headquarters of the Italian Province. The solemn Eucharist of thanksgiving was celebrated by Fr. Daniel Rocchetti, SAC, General Councillor and concelebrated by Fr. Showri Raju Yetukuri, SAC, General Secretary. Some of our sisters from the Generalate and the Procura community too participated to share in the joy of the sisters of this Province as well as that of Sr. Ivete Garlet, to pray, as well as to rejoice with them, which created an ambience of unity as a Pallottine family.
